Our culture sends us mixed messages about our bodies. On one hand, we’re told our bodies are projects to be sculpted, optimized, and perfected. On the other, we’re told our bodies don’t really matter, that the real us is our mind, our soul, our productivity. Both messages can leave us feeling at odds with the very flesh we live in. And then we open the Gospel and find something astonishing: God became a body. The Word became flesh and made a home among us. This week we’ll explore what it means that bodies are not obstacles to the spiritual life but the very place where the spiritual life happens. Sermon starts at 28:00.
